VFF Disciplinary Board reduces suspension of Sam Ngoc Duc
(Baonghean.vn) - Before Ho Chi Minh City FC entered the away match against SHB Da Nang in round 8 of V.League 2018, Coach Miura received good news when Sam Ngoc Duc had his penalty reduced by the VFF disciplinary committee.
In the match against SLNA in the 1/8 round of the 2018 National Cup on April 29, Sam Ngoc Duc of Ho Chi Minh City Club had a dangerous tackle with Phan Van Duc of SLNA and received a second yellow card and had to leave the field. Meanwhile, Truong Dinh Luat also committed a foul that caused Olaha to be injured and received a yellow card.

After reviewing the match's technical video and reports from the referee and supervisors, the VFF Disciplinary Board decided to impose a four-match suspension and a fine of VND20 million on Sam Ngoc Duc; and a three-match suspension and a fine of VND15 million on Dinh Luat.
Faced with the heavy penalty imposed by the VFF disciplinary board, both Ngoc Duc and Dinh Luat of Ho Chi Minh City Club have filed an appeal requesting a reduction in their disciplinary action.
After reviewing the petitions from two players of Ho Chi Minh City Club, the VFF Disciplinary Board decided to reduce the penalty to a three-match suspension and a VND15 million fine for defender Sam Ngoc Duc. Meanwhile, the penalty for defender Dinh Luat remains the same.
Because he was only given a one-match reduction, Sam Ngoc Duc still had to sit out the 8th round when his team visited SHB Da Nang and returned in the match against Than Quang Ninh in round 9 of V.League.
In this round, a series of players sat out due to suspension, including: Nguyen Quoc Long (Saigon), Nguyen Hoang Quoc Chi (S. Khanh BVN), Tran Manh Cuong (ND), Nguyen Hai Huy, Mac Hong Quan, Nguyen Thanh Hien (TQN), Nguyen Dai Dong, Pham Thanh Luong (Hanoi).

Ho Chi Minh City players were heavily fined for playing "rudely" in the SLNA match.
