Provincial People's Council Legal Committee: Deploying tasks in 2016

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 11, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Huu Lam, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, the Legal Committee held a meeting to summarize and evaluate activities in 2015 and deploy the 2016 Work Program.

In 2015, the Legal Department carried out tasks according to the work program set out at the beginning of the year to ensure progress, quality and efficiency. The Department and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council carefully prepared the contents of the 14th and 15th sessions of the 16th Provincial People's Council; proactively surveyed, understood the situation, and collected information to serve the review activities.

Implementing the assignment of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, in 2015, the Legal Committee presided over the organization of the examination of 10 draft Resolutions and 6-month and annual Reports of the Provincial People's Committee and work reports of the Chief Prosecutor of the Provincial People's Procuracy, Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court to ensure quality and time as prescribed. The supervision and survey activities in 2015 were in-depth, with many innovations, focusing mainly on the activities of judicial agencies. The Committee also actively coordinated supervision and survey with the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Council Committees. Participated in giving opinions on many draft laws, including many important law projects...

Some shortcomings and limitations in 2015 were frankly pointed out by the Committee, such as: some supervisions and surveys had few members participating, so the quality was affected; the urging to resolve voters' opinions and recommendations in the legal field was not regular, so the effectiveness was not high.

Regarding the tasks in 2016, the Committee focuses on key tasks such as evaluating and summarizing the activities in the 2011-2016 term of the Legal Committee and the Provincial People's Council; actively preparing and participating in the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; surveying some contents that voters are interested in and concerned about and planning the remaining program of the year for the Legal Committee for the 2016-2021 term to implement./.
