Pieng Cu village - Tien Phong commune (the first village of the district) was chosen by Que Phong district to pilot planting sticky corn on sloping land with an area of ​​nearly 3 hectares. Pieng Cu people have been enthusiastically clearing and burning fields for the past month.

During the day, people eat and rest in the fields and return home at dusk. Everyone is determined to clear 3 hectares of land in April according to the district's plan to plant sticky corn in time for the summer-autumn crop.

“For the past month, we, the people of Pieng Cu village, have been eating and resting at Cu hill during the day, returning home at night. Everyone is excited to clear the fields and come here to plant sticky corn seeds...." said Mr. Ha Van Phong, head of Pieng Cu village.

Mr. Phong added: The whole Pieng Cu village has 76 households, but this first crop was assigned to 12 households first. Although the remaining households have not been selected for the pilot, they also contributed to slash-and-burn farming. Everyone believes and hopes that the first crop will yield high yields...
