In Nghe An province, there was an exceptionally large flood in the upper reaches of the Ca River (the flow to Ban Ve Lake exceeded the tested flood flow), causing severe flooding over a large area, with flash floods and landslides occurring in some places.

The unprecedented flood in history caused extremely serious damage. Many houses were swept away and collapsed; thousands of hectares of crops and aquaculture ponds were flooded and lost; many roads and bridges were severely damaged; many areas were deeply submerged in floodwaters, some localities were completely cut off and isolated. The lives of people in the disaster-stricken areas fell into extremely difficult situations, and they were in great need of sympathy and help.

Right at the ceremony, all officials, civil servants and employees of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee responded, contributing one day's salary each to families facing difficulties and losses. This gesture demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and sharing of the agency with the people in the flood-affected areas during this time of calamity.
