The Provincial Party Standing Committee approved the Congress of the Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 26, under the chairmanship of comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the 10th Provincial Border Guard Party Congress, term 2015 - 2020, was held.

Also attending were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. On behalf of the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee, there were comrades: Colonel Nguyen Van Tuy - Party Committee Secretary, Colonel Dinh Ngoc Van - Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Commander.

In the draft political report of the 10th Party Congress, term 2015 - 2020 of the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee, it is stated that: The Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee implemented the Resolution of the 9th Congress in the context of relatively complicated developments on the land and sea borders, posing many challenges to the Party Committee in completing the tasks set out in the Resolution. However, with the thorough understanding and close and serious implementation of the Party Committee, the Nghe An Border Guard has made many positive contributions in the work of advising and directly protecting and maintaining security and defense of the borders. With the achievements, in 2013, the Nghe An Border Guard was honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the Armed Forces for the second time by the Party and State.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meeting.

Besides, there are still some shortcomings and limitations such as: the work of grasping the situation is not deep and comprehensive; smuggling and trade fraud have not been thoroughly curbed; the leadership capacity and fighting strength of some Party committees and organizations are still limited.

With the contributions and opinions at the Congress approval session, the main goals and directions set for the 2015 - 2020 term of the Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee were determined, including the following main points:

Firstly, regarding the task of protecting security and national defense, increasing proactiveness and promptly responding to all situations and new developments on the sea and island borders. In particular, paying special attention to the management of border gates and seaports, coordinating with functional forces, creating conditions for export, import and transportation activities while ensuring border security. Continuing to fight against criminals smuggling, drug crimes and human trafficking.

Second, regarding the tasks of border diplomacy and people's diplomacy, building a peaceful and friendly border with the three Lao provinces of Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamxay; consolidating the grassroots political system and building mass movements to protect the border, and producing and developing the border economy.

Third, regarding the task of building the Party organization, focus on improving the level of regularity and training quality of soldiers, building the Nghe An Border Guard Party Committee strong in politics, ideology and organization.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Hong Chau affirmed that the Border Guard is a force that plays a key role in ensuring national defense and security and has a great influence on the border community. Especially, for a province with a long land and sea border, with many ethnic groups living there, border security is one of the top tasks to ensure national defense and security and social order and security.
