The Organizing Committee of the General's State Funeral held its second meeting.

On the afternoon of October 10, under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, member of the State Funeral Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the State Funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the Organizing Committee of the State Funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap held its second plenary session.

Attending the meeting were members of the National Funeral Organizing Committee, leaders of ministries, departments, branches and the General's family.

The meeting reviewed and agreed on the entire plan to organize the State Funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap on October 12 and 13.

At the meeting, representatives of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Health, Hanoi City, Central Propaganda Department, Vietnam Television, Office of the President and the General's family reported in detail the plan to organize the General's State Funeral on October 12 and 13 as assigned by the National Funeral Organizing Committee.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, thanked and welcomed the relevant ministries, branches and units for preparing specific plans to serve the General's funeral, basically meeting the requirements for organizing the General's State Funeral in a solemn, thoughtful, secure and absolutely safe manner.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested ministries, branches and units to continue to effectively organize and implement funeral plans under their responsibilities.

The press agencies organized well the information and propaganda work about the State Funeral, both domestically and internationally, reflecting the great affection that the Party, State, compatriots, soldiers nationwide, overseas Vietnamese as well as international friends had for the General./.
