(Baonghean.vn) In the project to build a cultural district, Quy Hop district has paid special attention to directing the implementation of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups, especially directing the construction of a pure cultural model of ethnic minorities. Some villages have been successfully directed by the district, notably Vi village, Bac Son commune.

If anyone visits Vi village on the brightest moonlit night of any month of the year, they will be able to immerse themselves in the melodies of xuoi, lam, nhuon... and the melodious and deep music from traditional instruments performed by the artisans of the Thai ethnic club of Vi village, Bac Son commune (Quy Hop). On the banks of the babbling stream, the quiet mountains and forests and the shimmering moon, nearly 100 members of the club play and sing together. This is a cultural beauty of Vi village that has been preserved for many generations.

Each member of the Club is associated with a very impressive name: "two-stringed instrument", "streaming instrument", "five-stringed instrument", "nine-stringed instrument"... Mr. Vi Van Chien is one of the two-stringed instrument artists, he has enthusiastically passed on his profession to many young generations. In his spare time, Mr. Chien goes to the forest to find beautiful bamboo trees to bring home to make musical instruments. In Vi village, there are many famous "two-stringed instruments", "streaming instruments", such as artist Vi Thanh Hoai who both composes and performs the tunes of the stream and the stream...; Mr. Lo Van Nhien, an artist of the Pi Nhuon family, plays the traditional musical instrument very well; Vi Van Tuan, who is in grade 8 this year, also performs fluently the tunes of the five-stringed instrument. During festivals and New Year, visitors to Vi village can also enjoy extremely unique traditional dishes, such as ca lop (sticky rice) which is not wrapped in banana leaves but the people go into the forest to pick dong leaves, wrap sticky rice, put it in a bamboo tube and grill it; The dish is made from sticky rice flour mixed with a little meat, fish, young wild bananas and spices to make the meat fragrant and spicy... when eaten, you can feel the rich flavor of the Western mountainous region of Nghe An.

Bac Son commune secretary Vi Thanh Hoai, who is also an artist of stream and nhuon melodies, said: Vi village is 100% pure Thai, most of the people's houses are still maintaining traditional stilt houses. In particular, there are quite a number of elderly people from 50 to 90 years old, who still know some of their ethnic culture such as: storytelling, folk singing, brocade weaving, spiritual beliefs, mo worshiping, cuisine...

The village has established a Folk Culture Club. The activities of these clubs mainly focus on exploiting and collecting tangible and intangible culture of the Thai people and are divided into 4 groups. These are the group of traditional musical instruments such as: co ke, pi nhuon, khen be, khen ma, drums, gongs, khac luong, sap, etc. These musical instruments mainly serve festivals and funerals; the group collects objects and utensils such as trays, xoi steamers, rattan chairs, xoi presses, phac pa, woven sets and brocade products, worship items at Choong temple, etc.; the group collects folk songs such as lam, xuoi, nhuon, xap, lullabies, nursery rhymes, etc. and the last group is the culinary group with traditional dishes such as ho moc, com lam, cheo, canh boi, etc. During holidays, the ethnic council organizes cooking competitions to show off their talents.

Thanks to the efforts of the people, Vi village is not only rich in spirit but also has a good material life. Currently, Vi village has only 3 poor households according to the new standards.
