Gang transporting 6 heroin cakes drove straight into the police station

At about 6:00 a.m. on October 22, 2020, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police successfully dismantled an inter-provincial drug case, arresting 5 subjects for buying and selling,illegal possession of drugs.

Through professional work, the reconnaissance force discovered a drug smuggling ring from abroad into Lao Cai. After firmly grasping the subjects in the ring, the reconnaissance force discovered that Lu Van Tuan (born in 1980, residing in Ngan 3 village, Vo Lao commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province) was an important link in collusion with foreign subjects to smuggle drugs into the country.

Colonel Tran Quoc Huy - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police - Head of the Investigation Committee directed the establishment of many reconnaissance teams, blocking the routes in and out of Sa Pa town bordering Lai Chau province, closely following all movements of the subjects. Although during this time, in Lao Cai province, there were continuous heavy rains, climate change, and harsh weather, the reconnaissance teams were still determined to stick to the assigned area according to the plan, all night long, under the pouring rain.

At 6:00 a.m. on October 22, 2020, detectives discovered another link in the chain, Sung A Chia, (born in 1993, residing in Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province) leaving his home with many suspicious signs. During the journey, Chia carried gasoline and traveled by motorbike through difficult roads to Thuan Chau district, Son La province to pick up Vu A Denh (born in 1981, residing in Co Ma commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province).

Here, Denh brought a backpack and got on the car to move towards Lao Cai. When the two subjects had moved to Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province, Chia and Denh handed over the backpack to 3 subjects: Lu Van Tuan and Sung A Trang.

As soon as the backpack was handed over, the reconnaissance teams immediately created a pincer movement, approaching and controlling the group of subjects. When discovered, they fought back fiercely in an attempt to escape. One of the five even drove his motorbike straight into a reconnaissance team. However, they were quickly controlled. Evidence seized at the scene included 6 heroin bars, 02 motorbikes, 01 knife, 05 cell phones, 80.8 million VND and some related documents.

At the Investigation Police Agency, the subjects initially confessed to buying the above drugs from a Laotian man for 70 million VND/cake, then transporting them to Lao Cai, and if they found a customer, selling them for a price ranging from 150 to 170 million VND/cake.
