The railway accident occurred at 1:00 p.m. on May 27, on the North-South railway line intersecting with a residential road, in Dien An commune, Dien Chau district.
At the above time, the cargo train SH3 traveling from Hanoi to Vinh, when reaching the intersection with the above-mentioned civilian crossing, collided with the tanker truck with license plate 37C - 173.16 while it was crossing the railway.
The side collision damaged the front of the tanker truck, causing it to spin and lie along the tracks, injuring the driver.

Immediately after the accident, the train driver stopped the train and cooperated with the authorities to handle the incident. It is known that the road crossing with the railway only had signs, no lights or barriers.
This is the second railway accident in two consecutive days in the province. Previously, at 4:30 p.m. on May 26, a freight train consisting of a D18E-602 locomotive pulling 27 carriages, carrying more than 1,254 tons of cargo, when the train entered track 3, Yen Xuan station, Hung Nguyen district, the third and fourth carriages suddenly derailed and tilted to the left of the track at a 45-degree angle, crashing into a lamp post inside the station.
