Ukraine's withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and "tearing up" the treaties it signed within the framework of this Community could cost Kiev billions of dollars, - the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita reported.

According to the experts interviewed by the journalist, Ukraine's "tearing up" of this agreement makes it impossible for 3 million Ukrainian workers to work in Russia. And the move to end the free trade agreement also brings billions of dollars in losses to this country.

Therefore, economists believe that Kiev may leave the CIS only as a "showy parade". Georgia did the same thing before: Tbilisi left the Commonwealth, but still complied with agreements that were beneficial to Georgia.

Polish newspapers also reported that last year, trade between Ukraine and other CIS countries amounted to $16 billion, most of which was with Russia.

Previously, on May 19, Ukrainian President Piotr Poroshenko signed a decree terminating Ukraine's membership in the CIS's regulatory structures.

He closed the permanent representative office of Kiev in the Community. In addition, President Poroshenko also announced that Kiev will conduct an audit of all international contracts signed within the framework of the CIS.
