According to the representative of the military department Ann Stefanek, this project is one of two measures of the Pentagon to create hypersonic weapons. The other program is a joint project of the US Air Force and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Office (DARPA), within the framework of which the hypersonic weapon prototype must be developed until 2023.
President Vladimir Putin announced on March 1 that Russia has successfully created and tested the most advanced weapons in the world, against which any missile defense system becomes useless.
President Putin spoke about Russia's new nuclear-powered cruise missiles, unmanned submarines and laser combat systems. He also confirmed that these ultra-modern equipment do not yet have official names and invited Russians to participate in proposing and voting for the name of the country's new weapons on the Ministry of Defense's website.
