Foreign press reports on General Secretary's visit to India
Several major newspapers in the world, especially Indian newspapers, continue to publish images and articles highlighting the State visit of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to India, from November 19 to 22.

India’s PTI news agency published an article praising the agreement to maintain and expand cooperation in oil and gas exploration and exploitation in areas under Vietnam’s sovereignty in the East Sea. The article also quoted Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as saying: “Both India and Vietnam are located in areas rich in potential but also facing many challenges. Bilateral cooperation and cooperation with other countries in the region will bring great benefits to both countries and contribute to building a peaceful, stable and prosperous Asia.”
Meanwhile, The Hindu published a series of articles on Vietnam-India cooperation during the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, stating that the economy will continue to be the driving force for bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and India in the future. The newspaper also reported on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Petrovietnam and the Indian Oil and Gas Group (OVL) in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, and that the Tata Group of India and Vietnam had reached an agreement on the project to build the Long Phu 2 Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1,320 MW in Soc Trang...
In addition to the economic field, The Hindu also reported that Vietnam and India are currently looking to add some cooperation content in the fields of security and defense. The two countries have signed a number of agreements and are implementing a plan to build a strong defense training program that includes regular exchange of delegation visits and increased training cooperation in military specialties.
