After waiting since noon on April 27 with the announcement that the press conference would take place at 2 p.m., reporters were disappointed to receive the announcement that there would be no press conference.

By late afternoon, a representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) confirmed that a press conference would be held at 7:00 p.m.

Hundreds of reporters patiently waited until about 7:50 p.m. for the meeting to begin, but at this press conference, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan only made a brief announcement for about 10 minutes and then announced the end of the press conference, surprising the reporters.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre, journalist Van Duan of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper said that public opinion and people are waiting for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in this afternoon's press conference to "give reasons for the mass fish deaths".

"After speaking, the deputy minister did not give the press a chance to ask questions about people's concerns. It can be said that we are quite disappointed with the delay of the authorities in finding answers to people's concerns," said journalist Van Duan.

According to journalist Nguyen Hoai - Tien Phong newspaper, this press conference cannot be said to meet people's expectations. There are many questions from reporters that are still unanswered and there is no chance to ask.

Many questions are the responsibility of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to answer, but the issues that the Ministry answered at the press conference did not meet public expectations.

"We expect this to be a press conference with information provision, debate, Q&A, and questioning to clarify information and dispel doubts, but we see that many journalists are not satisfied with the information they receive," journalist Nguyen Hoai expressed his opinion.
