The press and its mission to protect the Party and the revolutionary cause of the entire people.
These days, amidst the vibrant colors of flowers celebrating Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day on June 21st, society has the opportunity to honor the journalists who dare to sacrifice themselves for the cause, ready to be present everywhere, at any time, to promptly inform the public about the country's pressing issues. For nearly a century, accompanying the nation, Vietnam's revolutionary press has continuously matured, serving as a pioneering force on the ideological and cultural front, a sharp weapon protecting the Party, and making immense contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

It's no coincidence that in recent years, many people jokingly say that June is the month of journalists. This is because this month includes an important holiday, reminding journalists of their glorious history.Vietnamese revolutionary pressFounded and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh.
With the launch of the first issue of Thanh Nien newspaper on June 21, 1925, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc laid the first brick in building the foundation for the formation and development of revolutionary Vietnamese journalism - a press with the noble mission of accompanying the national liberation struggle led by the Communist Party.

Throughout decades of resistance against colonialism and imperialism, Vietnamese journalism has recognized and honored countless exemplary journalists who simultaneously wielded pens and fought with weapons, regardless of hardship and sacrifice, dedicating their entire lives to the revolution.
In peacetime, as the country embarks on its construction and development, the press continues to be a bridge connecting the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws to the people, promoting patriotic emulation movements, and motivating all sectors of the population to overcome difficulties and challenges, especially during the period of reform and international integration.
With its functions of detection, information, monitoring, and critical analysis, the press in our country serves as a forum for citizens to exercise their right to self-governance and contribute their minds and efforts to the nation; it is a vanguard force in the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State, and the regime.
In particular, since the 13th National Party Congress, the press has played an increasingly important role in combating and refuting the erroneous and reactionary views of hostile forces, and protecting the ideological foundation of the Party.

Not only central press agencies but also most Party newspapers and local radio and television stations have a section dedicated to "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation“This has attracted the enthusiastic and responsible participation of numerous journalists, researchers, and social activists, resulting in many outstanding journalistic works with profound and widespread influence, becoming a "sharp theoretical weapon" to prevent and combat the decline in ideology, politics, morality, and lifestyle, as well as manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation." At the same time, it has amplified examples of good people and good deeds with the spirit of "using beauty to overcome ugliness," and "using construction to combat decline"…
The press has truly become an active force in the struggle to build our Party into an increasingly clean and strong organization. As President Ho Chi Minh – a great journalist of the revolutionary press – once said: “Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. The pen and paper are their sharp weapons.”

Today, with the rapid development of information technology, digital transformation is becoming a matter of survival for press and media organizations, and also for every journalist, in order to best and most quickly serve the public's information needs, in line with the general development trends of the times, while simultaneously improving skills and expertise and helping journalists maintain their integrity.
The 13th National Congress of the Party continued to emphasize that one of the important tasks of the press is to build and develop a professional, humane, and modern press and media. In this, humanism, accuracy, and objectivity are core values and the reason for the existence of the press. Humanism gives it the strength to protect and promote the good values of society.

It is reasonable to say that journalists are fortunate because they have the opportunity to engage in the most dialogue with the public on issues of public concern... To achieve this, each journalist constantly strives to improve, learn, and equip themselves with a wealth of knowledge, cultivate their character and intellect, and truly dedicate themselves to "honing their writing skills" with the mindset of "sharp pen, pure heart, bright mind," and "supporting justice and eliminating evil."uncompromising struggleBy addressing distorted and false narratives, we fulfill our social responsibility and professional ethics as genuine writers.
