Ensuring supply and demand, stabilizing the market at the end of the year

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Directive No. 16/CT-BCT on implementing solutions to ensure supply-demand balance and market stabilization in the last months of 2012 and the Lunar New Year 2013.

The Ministry requested the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally-run cities to closely monitor market developments, supply and demand of goods, especially essential goods in their management areas; coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to create conditions for enterprises to produce, process, distribute goods, and build product consumption chains.

The Directive also clearly states the coordination and facilitation of businesses to promote domestic trade promotion activities, deploy the stockpiling of goods to stabilize the market, and respond to the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

Along with that, the Ministry will continue to urge and create conditions for businesses participating in the price stabilization program to expand their distribution network to densely populated areas, industrial parks, suburban districts, remote areas, etc. to increase access to stabilized goods for disadvantaged people and those with low and middle incomes.

In the coming time, the Ministry will combine with price stabilization programs and programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, prepare well the source of policy goods and essential consumer goods, goods for Tet to provide early and fully to people in mountainous areas, remote areas and areas damaged by natural disasters at reasonable prices; Closely inspect and monitor the electricity supply, have backup plans to ensure enough electricity for production and people's daily life at the end of the year and Tet; Strengthen market inspection and supervision activities, take measures to control the distribution and purchase of goods, especially essential agricultural products and foodstuffs of foreign traders that disrupt the domestic market; strengthen control of violations of the law on prices, product quality, acts of speculation, hoarding, and illegal price increases in the area.

For corporations, general companies, and companies producing and trading essential goods and services, the Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends reviewing and assessing supply and demand of essential goods, ensuring production and import progress, strictly implementing regulations on circulation reserves and national reserves to provide sufficient and timely goods to the market when necessary.

The Ministry will actively control input factors, cut costs to reduce prices, reduce pressure on increasing commodity prices; consolidate and develop the distribution system, promote trade promotion activities, and clear product outlets for consumption.

In addition, the Ministry will closely monitor sales activities, reduce intermediaries to bring goods to consumers at reasonable prices; strengthen cooperation and linkage with businesses in the industry in supplying and consuming each other's products.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also requires corporations, general companies, and production and business enterprises to fully supply policy goods to mountainous, remote, and isolated areas before the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty 2013./.
