German newspaper: Countless dragon tooth traps of the Russian army
(Baonghean.vn) - Bild (Germany) newspaper assessed that the Russian Armed Forces continue to strengthen their effectiveness on the front line with dragon tooth traps.

Russia continues to strengthen its defenses, with the help of anti-tank "dragon teeth" layers, Ria Novosti reported, citing an analysis in the German newspaper Bild. According to Bild, this poses a huge challenge for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as no NATO equipment can penetrate such a defense system.
"The Russian Armed Forces continue to reinforce this giant defense line. We cannot count how many of these 'dragon teeth' - pyramid-shaped concrete blocks, used to stop military equipment - there are," Bild wrote.
Bild also noted that Western technology could not overcome such solid fortifications. This was the reason for the failure of the counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The “Dragon’s Teeth” is a defensive line consisting of a deep trench and two rows of anti-tank fortifications. It is called “Dragon’s Teeth” because of the pyramid-shaped concrete structures. The “teeth” are located close together and have the effect of preventing the movement of armored vehicles.
According to Bild, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to leave damaged Western tanks on the battlefield, as the Russian Armed Forces blocked access. Therefore, the Ukrainian side had no opportunity to tow the damaged equipment to the logistics unit for repair.
Bild's report also stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could "rescue" damaged tanks from the front line with the help of infantry fighting vehicles. However, the Russian military simply does not allow them to do this.
German-made Leopard-2 tanks supplied to Ukraine by the West have proven ineffective on the front line due to a number of technical flaws, according to an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Yan Gagin.
Specifically, the Leopard-2 tank lacks maneuverability, is heavy, and has poor cross-country ability, especially in muddy conditions. The Leopard-2 cannot be repaired in the field, but must be towed from the battlefield and taken to a repair area. Repairs and maintenance must also be performed by highly trained personnel.
Russia has repeatedly voiced its opposition to the West providing heavy offensive weapons, including tanks, to Ukraine. At the same time, Russian officials have also emphasized that the country's military has enough weapons to counter Western tanks and that these tanks will be "legitimate targets" for Russia on the battlefield.
According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, since the start of the counter-offensive, Ukraine has lost more than 90,000 soldiers and about 600 tanks./.
