(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of April 16, at the Hanoi Opera House, Hanoi Moi Newspaper solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Labor Hero and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first issue of Hanoi Moi Weekend.
Attending the solemn ceremony were comrades: Dinh The Huynh - Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Nguyen Van Suu - Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Department; Truong Minh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Ha Minh Hue, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and representatives of ministries, departments, branches, and central organizations...
On the Hanoi side, there were comrades: Pham Quang Nghi - Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen The Thao, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, sectors, organizations; leaders of districts, towns, and Party Committees directly under the Hanoi Party Committee.
Attending and sharing joy with the collective of cadres, reporters and staff of Hanoi Moi Newspaper were also the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Central and Hanoi press agencies; representatives of Party newspapers of provinces and cities, the delegation of Vientiane Mai Newspaper (Lao People's Democratic Republic); ambassadors, representatives, diplomats, partners and close collaborators along with more than 200 cadres, reporters and staff of Hanoi Moi Newspaper.

As the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital, over the past 57 years, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has always been a witness to a heroic Capital, a Capital bearing the strong imprint of a country that is growing strongly in the era of integration and development.
Since the first daily issue was published (October 24, 1957) until now, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has undergone a comprehensive process of construction and development in terms of personnel organization, finance, daily newspaper content and publications, meeting the requirements of political tasks. From 4 pages printed in black and white, Hanoi Moi Daily Newspaper increased to 8 pages, printed in 4 colors, published many publications, approached modern journalism methods, built an electronic newspaper to diversify propaganda work effectively. Hanoi Moi Newspaper has made positive contributions to finding a development direction in journalism activities, eliminating the gap between central and local journalism; making efforts to successfully create the cultural appearance of the newspaper; maintaining and promoting the identity of the Capital Party newspaper.

Thanks to its good work in disseminating the policies of the Central and the City as well as promptly reflecting the issues of social life, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has become a reliable information channel for many grassroots cadres in particular and the people in general, a "bridge" between the Party, the government and the people of the Capital. In recognition of these achievements, the Party and the State have awarded the title of Hero of Labor to Hanoi Moi Newspaper, for its outstanding achievements in labor and creativity, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. This is a milestone marking the unceasing efforts of generations of Hanoi Moi journalists. Hanoi Moi Newspaper is the first local Party newspaper in the country to be honored with the title of Hero of Labor.

The newspaper has continuously developed, generations of Hanoi Moi journalists have the honor of contributing to the leading agency of the Capital, especially, the Newspaper has the honor of being named by Uncle Ho twice. During the development process, the Newspaper has always fulfilled its assigned tasks well. Through the periods, the Newspaper has always closely followed the direction of the authorities, contributing to the development of the Capital.

During its operation, the Newspaper has always kept abreast of reality, even in difficult times during wartime as well as peacetime. Implementing the adjustment of the Capital's boundaries, the Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Ha Tay Newspaper merged, and the Newspaper quickly stabilized and continued to complete its assigned tasks. The Newspaper's articles were positive, focusing on vividly and widely propagating the campaign to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, fighting against corruption, bureaucracy, waste... The Newspaper actively participated in charity activities, contributing to helping fellow newspapers nationwide during difficult times.
The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee requested the Newspaper to regularly follow the guidelines and policies of the Party and the city; constantly improve political qualities, first of all, focus on propagating the Party's Resolution 4, Resolution 11 on the direction of building and developing the capital, 9 working programs of the City Party Committee... The staff and reporters need to improve their political mettle and journalism expertise, go deep into the grassroots, propagate good people and good deeds, resolutely fight against the wrong thoughts and arguments of hostile forces; always learn the journalism process, improve the quality of publications, meet the needs of readers, complete assigned tasks well; take the lead in self-correction, overcoming shortcomings, avoid providing false information, actively participate in social activities. The Newspaper must strive to be worthy of the title of Labor Hero as well as the trust of readers with timely, useful and attractive information.
