This is the 11th volume in a 20-volume history series called "People Who Changed the World."
This 104-page publication collects articles previously published in Le Monde by many authors about the role of President Ho Chi Minh in different historical periods of Vietnam.
Among the above authors are famous French journalists such as Jean-Claude Pomonti, historians and in-depth researchers with many connections to Vietnam such as Pierre Brocheux, Jean Lacouture, Alain Ruscio, Philippe de Villiers...
The book opens with the article "Ho Chi Minh: national liberator, guide, a monument" by author Jean-Claude Pomonti, who has spent more than 20 years residing in the Southeast Asia region.
The article introduces an overview of President Ho Chi Minh from the time he left to find a way to save the country until he returned, together with the entire Party, leading the Vietnamese people to seize power, giving birth to an independent Vietnam in the fall of 1945 and continuing to lead the people to conduct two resistance wars against the French and the Americans in the following years.
The articles in the book are collected in three historical periods. The period 1945-1946 has the theme "A nation asserting itself," introducing President Ho Chi Minh from the time he read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945 at the historic Ba Dinh Square to the negotiations with France to reach a peace agreement for Vietnam or the event of France bombing Hai Phong in 1946.
The second phase 1946-1956 with the theme "Victory over France" focused on describing Vietnam's Dien Bien Phu victory and the role of President Ho Chi Minh in that resistance war.
The third phase from 1954 to 1975, with the theme "The Endless War to Unify the Country", talks about the North's construction of socialism, the arduous resistance war against American imperialism to liberate the South and unify the country, and the four-party negotiations of the Paris Agreement.

The articles show that although President Ho Chi Minh did not live to see the day of total victory, his thoughts on national independence and national unification are still present in the hearts of all Vietnamese people. In the eyes of the Vietnamese people and people of the world, he is the embodiment of the spirit of national liberation and independence and freedom.
In addition, the book also reviews the main activities of the young man Nguyen Ai Quoc when he stopped at the Tours Congress in 1920 and became one of the founders of the French Communist Party, attended courses in Moscow and later became a member of the Communist International in Asia.
The book also emphasizes his wisdom in establishing the Viet Minh Front to widely gather people from all walks of life to successfully carry out the August Revolution, and at the same time repeats his famous saying, "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom."
The book also introduces a list of books written about President Ho Chi Minh and works written by him.
The fact that Le Monde - the leading newspaper in France and the world - published a book about President Ho Chi Minh in a collection of outstanding figures who changed the world in the 20th century shows the respect and admiration that the world has for the outstanding leader of the Vietnamese people - President Ho Chi Minh, who brought Vietnam from a colony to an independent and free country, and also made great contributions to the struggle movement of oppressed peoples around the world./
