The tension reached a climax when the referee pulled out 6 red cards, 3 cards for each team. This left each team with only 8 players on the field. However, Vinh University of Technical Education took advantage of the opportunity and tied the score 3-3, winning the right to enter the quarterfinals.
However, things did not stop there. The players of Vinh University of Technical Education recounted that while they were on their way back to the hotel, they were “questioned” by a group of students from Maritime University. Confused and dissatisfied with the hosts, the team from Nghe An suddenly withdrew from the tournament. At the same time, the head of the Vinh University of Technical Education delegation decided to send all the players back to their hometowns to ensure safety.
A player from Vinh University of Technical Education said: “It is an honor to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament, but because the opposing team’s players were too reckless, our teacher did not dare let the students stay and play in the quarterfinals. He submitted a request to withdraw from the tournament to send us back to our hometowns.”
This match was broadcast live on Youtube and the tournament organizer's Fanpage, however the violent images mentioned above have been deleted. Currently, all coaches and players of Vinh University of Technical Education are on their way back to Nghe An./.
