(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of November 10, comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council worked with the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper to listen to the results after nearly 4 years of implementing Project No. 01-DA/TU on "Improving the quality of Nghe An Newspaper's activities in the period 2011-2015, with a view to 2020". Also working were comrade Tran Cong Duong, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee, representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Committees and related sectors.

Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Provincial Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper reported on the project implementation results.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Editorial Board, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief reported the results of the Project implementation to the Standing Deputy Secretary and the Working Group. Accordingly, after the Standing Provincial Party Committee approved Project No. 01-DA/TU, Nghe An Newspaper developed a plan with many creative solutions and resolutely organized the implementation, so it soon achieved the contents, requirements and goals set out in the Project, making a remarkable step forward in quality to meet the requirements of readers.

Nghe An Daily Newspaper increased from 4 pages to 8 pages, printed in 4 colors on page 1 (2 years ahead of schedule compared to the project target); the number of copies issued to date has reached 15,203 copies/issue (an increase of 4,000 copies/issue); Nghe An Weekend and the ethnic minority section have increased sharply, the number of copies issued has reached 15,070 copies/issue (an increase of nearly 6,000 copies/issue); Nghe An Electronic Newspaper is implementing phase 1 of comprehensive upgrading according to the project roadmap, but has also developed rapidly, attracting more and more readers.

The work of handling readers' petitions has a connection that ensures a bridge between the editorial board and the grassroots..., contributing to resolving many complicated lawsuits at the grassroots level. Continuously from 2011 to present, Nghe An Newspaper has had works that have won national press awards, in 2013 alone, there was 01 work that won the national press award A; from 2012-2013, Nghe An Newspaper accounted for more than half of the total number of awards in the provincial press awards, continuously winning high prizes. In 2011, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President, the Government's emulation flag, many certificates of merit from the Central Ministries, branches, the Provincial People's Committee, and was recognized by the Provincial Labor Federation as a Provincial Cultural Unit. Based on the comprehensive and excellent achievements achieved after Project No. 01-DA/TU, Nghe An Newspaper is gradually building and developing to become a Heroic Unit in the renovation period.

However, Nghe An Newspaper still has shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome, such as: the newspaper's appeal is not high; revenue from propaganda and advertising is not much exploited; propaganda publications on ethnic minorities in mountainous areas have not met practical requirements; propaganda on party building work still lacks quality articles;... Regarding the direction and tasks in the coming time, the Standing Deputy Secretary requested: Nghe An Newspaper must become a "conductor" in information and propaganda orientation; need to build orientation, improve the quality of information to bring the newspaper to the outside market; expand cooperation within the province and domestically in communication work; gradually improve the quality of electronic newspapers; coordinate with sectors and localities to promote distribution; build a team of managers and reporters, associated with training, fostering, and improving professional ethics; build a strong Party organization, with a roadmap to build an agency to achieve the title of Heroic Unit in the soonest time.
