(Baonghean.vn) - In a series of activities to pay tribute to the July, to return to the roots, to celebrate the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2015), a delegation from Nghe An newspaper led by comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Editor-in-Chief visited and burned incense at Hang Duong Cemetery, Con Dao island district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Hang Duong Cemetery is the burial place of tens of thousands of Vietnamese soldiers and patriots who were imprisoned by the French colonialists and American imperialists from 1862 to 1975. Construction and renovation began in 1992, Hang Duong Cemetery covers an area of ​​about 20 hectares, divided into 4 areas A, B, C, D according to each period. Among them, there are many mass graves and anonymous graves, some graves were gathered from other islands in the Con Dao archipelago (including 16 islands).

The delegation also visited and burned incense at the grave of Nguyen An Ninh - a patriot who made many contributions to the revolutionary journalism of the country; Vo Thi Sau - a character who has become immortal in the hearts of the people of Con Dao in particular and in the history of the Vietnamese revolution in general.
