(Baonghean) - On November 26-29, 2011, at Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, the Nghe An Sub-Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources in collaboration with Nha Trang University and Vinh Khoi Construction - Trading Company Limited - Tan Quy ward - Tan Phu district - Ho Chi Minh City deployed the construction of the Model "Aquatic product preservation cellar using new PU (Polyurethane) technology for offshore fishing vessels" for ship owner Nguyen Van Son, Trung Thanh hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province.

POLYURETHANE foam has the properties of glue, very good adhesion, the structure of the Foam is very tight and less water-absorbent, so it is easy to use, good waterproofing, light weight and durable structure. Especially the insulation is very good, meeting all specifications, shapes, corners, good heat resistance, strong adhesion to the mold wall without using glue or other chemicals. The material is light, solid structure, high compressive strength. Does not react with oil products and is fire retardant. The above characteristics are suitable for the requirements of the type of insulation material that needs to be applied in fish storage tanks on offshore fishing vessels.

This is a solution applying new technology suitable for the requirements and development trends of the new storage industry of countries with developed fisheries and is very necessary for people exploiting offshore fisheries in Nghe An province. With this new technology, ship owners can increase the time at sea, the cost of exploited products is thus more economically efficient than before, contributing to promoting the development of offshore fishing, protecting security at sea.

However, due to the relatively high cost of new technology, it is difficult for people to spend money to implement this technology. Therefore, there should be policies to encourage and create favorable conditions for ship owners to be able to equip this PU technology.
