NBC News of the United States today published a series of photos capturing the most impressive moments of the parade and march to celebrate Vietnam's National Day on September 2. The photos depict the solemnity and heroism of the soldiers participating in the parade, the beauty of the female soldiers in the parade as well as the bustling, exciting atmosphere at Ba Dinh Square during the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of National Day.
German news agency DPA also reflected the heroic atmosphere of the parade. "With 21 cannon salutes from the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the parade of 30,000 soldiers and people began at 7am, in front of President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum in Ba Dinh Square," DPA reported.
After reviewing the historical process of the Vietnamese nation, this news agency highlighted the most notable points in President Truong Tan Sang's speech, including the challenges that the Vietnamese nation is facing, "especially the increasing disputes over sovereignty over seas and islands in the East Sea."
"I am very proud of the country at this time. I hope the current and future leaders will firmly protect the country," DPA quoted Nguyen Duc Gan, 68, in an interview in Hanoi.

AFP called today's National Day parade one of Vietnam's most prominent events in recent years. In addition to reviewing important historical milestones, the French news agency also mentioned Vietnam's rapid economic development in recent years.
IBTimes posted a video recording the scene of the parade in neat uniforms, marching in straight lines through the streets of Hanoi, and also quoted the feelings of some people present in the capital.
"It has been 70 years since Vietnam declared independence. Vietnamese people are very happy and proud of their independence, freedom and territorial sovereignty. Although we are a small country, we can defeat many invaders, no matter how strong they are," IBTimes quoted Mr. Phan Khac Nhat, a Hanoi resident, as saying.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lap, 62 years old, said she was very happy to live in peace and witness Vietnam's prosperous development, as well as having a strong army to protect the country.
In the article "Vietnam shows off military strength on National Day", Singapore's Channel News Asia (CNA) emphasized that more than 30,000 people from the military and civilian sectors marched through Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence to the nation 70 years ago.
"The parade force, led by Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, included the army, police and militia. Missiles and armored vehicles did not participate in this parade," CNA described.
The newspaper also quoted Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan telling the press that "with the country's economic difficulties, the government chose to be frugal because just the number of people participating in the parade and marching, the cost is quite expensive, if there are weapons it will be even more expensive."
Xinhua published almost the entire speech of President Truong Tan Sang before the parade, including the following passage: "To celebrate the August Revolution and National Day, our entire Party, people and army vow to unite as one, strive, seize opportunities, overcome challenges, devote ourselves, raise our will, and maintain revolutionary achievements..."
"In addition to the parade, a series of other activities were also held across the country, including art performances, exhibitions of books and artifacts about the August Revolution, a national film week...", Xinhua reported.
The Global Post also reprinted this article verbatim from China's state news agency.
