The Vietnam Military History Museum held a ceremony to announce two national treasures: MiG-21 F96 aircraft number 5121 and T54B tank number 843. These are two of 30 artifacts that were recognized as national treasures by the Prime Minister in the first phase on October 1, 2012.

The Vietnam Military History Museum held a ceremony to announce two national treasures: MiG-21 F96 aircraft number 5121 and T54B tank number 843. These are two of 30 artifacts that were recognized as national treasures by the Prime Minister in the first phase on October 1, 2012.

MiG-21 aircraft number 5121 was produced by the Soviet Union, aided to Vietnam in July 1972 and equipped by the Air Defense - Air Force for the Red Star Air Force (Regiment 921, Division 372). In the Dien Bien Phu in the air campaign in December 1972, this aircraft, along with our pilots, shot down 5 American aircraft, including the first B52 aircraft shot down by pilot Pham Tuan on December 27, 1972. T54B tank number 843 was also a weapon aided by the Soviet Union. This was the tank leading the formation of Company 4, Battalion 1, Tank - Armored Brigade 203 to penetrate deep into and capture the Presidential Palace of the puppet government at noon on April 30, 1975.

The Vietnam Military History Museum is developing a project to preserve and display these two military heritages worthy of their status as national treasures.
