The archives of the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum have become a red address, a place of trust in finding information for many families who are relatives of people with revolutionary contributions in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

On January 15, 1960, the Party Delegation of the Ministry of Culture issued Decision No. 106 - QD/VH on the establishment of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum. On September 12, 1963, the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum officially opened to visitors.

The Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum's warehouse currently stores and preserves nearly 20,000 documents and artifacts that demonstrate the heroic revolutionary period of the Nghe Tinh people in the Soviet Nghe Tinh movement, serving the purpose of display and research. Of which, the warehouse has collected at the Department of Professional Records, Ministry of Public Security more than 6,000 files and nearly 3,000 photos of soldiers in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh who were imprisoned by the enemy in imperialist prisons during the period 1930-1945.

Since 1994, the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum has also used press channels such as newspapers."Veteran"in the section“Find teammates”to find and verify the exact date of death and place of birth of some party members in 1930-1931, to announce in Ha Tinh Newspaper the list of people whose photos were arrested by the French so that their relatives would know; to provide documents to the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to create a regime for people with meritorious services, and localities in building Party history books...

The archives of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum have become a red address, a place where many families who are relatives of people who have contributed to the revolution in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces place their trust in finding information. The staff of the museum's archives always create conditions and serve the relatives who come to exploit the records, considering it a responsibility to the families of people who have contributed to the revolution. Many people have found records and photos through the archives of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum.

Mr. Tran Van Loi, from Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, sent a petition to the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum with the earnest wish to find the photos of his father, Tran Bon Chuc, and his uncle, Tran Em Chuc, to worship because when his father passed away, they were all very young and could not remember his face. With the help of the Museum staff, when he received the portraits of his relatives, he was extremely moved.

Mr. Tran Tuyen from Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province hugged his father's photo found in the museum archives, crying and saying:"Some of my brothers and sisters were 70 years old when they first met my father. Thank you to the Museum for letting me see my father's face."

Official dispatches and letters of introduction were sent to the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum.

Mr. Dau Cong Dan, from Dien Phong commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, came to the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum to find information about his father, Mr. Dau Du. During the early period of the revolution and many years later, Mr. Dau Du's family and descendants were all considered to be powerful landlords. The work of finding the records was very quick and easy. When he received the results from the Museum staff that his father's records had been found, Mr. Dan could not hold back his tears. From the Museum's records and the historians of his hometown, Mr. Dan learned clearly about his father's activities. In 1928-1929, Mr. Dau Du actively participated in revolutionary activities in Dien Phong. He was closely followed by French secret agents and had to change his name to Dau Gia to continue his activities. The Party organization assigned him to work in many places, from Dien Chau to Do Luong, including having to compete for the position of Bang ta tong Ly Trai of Dien Chau district to protect revolutionary cadres. The French secret police recorded in his surveillance file the following information:“In 1943, when running for the position of Governor of Dien Chau - he was investigated because there was a report that he was a financial officer of the communist party, and had been hunted by French secret police during the period 1931-1932.”. Only when the records were found at the Museum, Mr. Dau Du was cleared of his name and recognized as a revolutionary activist before January 1, 1945.

Another case is that of Mrs. Ngo Thi Hoe's family in Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province, who also found the records of their relative, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, alias Nguyen Van Nuoi, with the help of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum. Mrs. Ngo Thi Hoe said:“According to the family’s wishes, relatives searched for his records in many sources, but could not find them. It was not until the family went to the archives of the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum and with the help of the museum’s archive staff that the family learned his portrait and information about his activities:Sentenced to 1 year in prison, 1 year of house arrest (Judgment No. 184 dated December 16, 1930 of Nghe An court) for communist demonstration".As a relative of Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, when she learned about the information about her relative, Ms. Ngo Thi Hoe was extremely moved.

As time passed, most of the party members from the 1930-1931 period were lost, and historical evidence of their revolutionary activities also disappeared. There were soldiers whose names were recorded in history books, but there were also comrades who silently sacrificed for the revolutionary cause of the Party and our people without their families or relatives knowing. Therefore, the activities of collecting, exploiting and providing information and documents in the files collected about the revolutionary activists in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh who were imprisoned by the enemy in imperialist prisons during the 1930-1945 period, currently stored at the Department of Professional Records, Ministry of Public Security, is one of the meaningful activities in the work."Repay gratitude"These are important documents that serve as the basis for resolving policies and regimes for revolutionary activists according to Instruction No. 30-HD/BTCTW dated August 12, 2009 of the Central Organizing Committee.“On the conditions, basis and process of considering and recognizing revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945 and revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to before the August 19, 1945 General Uprising who sacrificed or passed away”.

Besides, the Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum always cares and focuses on the work."Repaying gratitude"through other activities such as: Building a memorial for patriotic and revolutionary martyrs imprisoned at Vinh prison and a stele with the names of nearly 2,000 Soviet martyrs of Nghe Tinh (1930-1931); Holding a requiem for the souls of the Soviet martyrs of Nghe Tinh at the Soviet Martyrs Memorial House of Nghe Tinh; organizing meetings, visiting and giving gifts to revolutionary elders, families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers; giving talks, mobile exhibitions to serve the festival“Drink water remember the source”, offering flowers and incense at martyrs' cemeteries on the occasion of the annual War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, July 27...

Through these activities, the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum has contributed to promoting and educating patriotism, national spirit, and gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations. At the same time, it has raised awareness and responsibility of the people and young generations in the Soviet homeland for the gratitude activities being carried out by our Party and State.
