After losing 0-2 to Barca in the first leg, Man City's chances of advancing are slim. Despite needing to find an equalizer, Man City only took to the field with Sergio Aguero as their only striker. It seems that Man City's coaching staff made a mistake in placing their trust in the player who had just returned from injury.
In the first half, the Argentine striker was almost invisible and did not create any notable situations. Overall, Aguero in particular and Man City players in general were too impatient. That impatience was shown by the unnecessary yellow cards of Fernandinho, Aleksandar Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta, players who would certainly be suspended if Man City won the right to continue.
In terms of the game, Barca proved to be superior to Man City, they created countless opportunities and only luck could help the blue team not concede a goal. In fact, the fact that Man City did not lose in the first 45 minutes was largely contributed by referee Stephane Lannoy. In the 10th minute, Messi was clearly fouled by Lescott in the penalty area, but no whistle was blown.

In the second half, Dzeko was brought on to replace Aguero, and the game became brighter for Man City. However, when the tall Bosnian striker continuously threatened Victor Valdes and Man City began to dream of an overthrow, Lescott made them regret. In the 67th minute, this player fumbled the ball through his feet, allowing Messi to chip the ball past Joe Hart, opening the score for the home team.
Things got worse for Man City when in the 77th minute, they were reduced to 10 men because Zabaleta argued with the referee and received a second yellow card. Zabaleta had a reason to do so because referee Stephane Lannoy did not penalize Pique, even though this player had committed a fairly obvious foul on Dzeko in the penalty area.
Despite being at a disadvantage in terms of numbers, Man City still managed to equalize after Kompany tapped the ball into the net from close range in the 89th minute. It seemed that Man City would avoid defeat when leaving Nou Camp, but in the last minute, Iniesta made a clever breakthrough before passing to Dani Alves to seal a 2-1 victory for Barca.
Defeating Man City in both matches, Barca deserved to advance with a total score of 4-1.
