This is the largest vehicle theft and sale of stolen property case that Nghe An police have cracked down on since the beginning of the year.

Expanding the investigation, on July 25, 2024, in Ha Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi City, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police to arrest 2 more subjects for property theft: Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1987) residing in Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province and Le Dinh Giang (born in 1989) residing in Cam Thuy District, Thanh Hoa Province. The exhibits seized by the police included: 4 sets of lock breaking clamps, 6 phones and 2 GPS trackers mounted on motorbikes to prevent the victims from installing GPS trackers to find out where the motorbikes were hidden and sold.

Cuong and Giang are two notorious criminals, each with four previous convictions for theft. They are also the leaders of a gang that stole dozens of motorbikes in Hanoi under the control of Ly Nhat Quy Cuong. After learning that their accomplices were arrested, the two quickly moved, changed their SIM cards, phones, and deleted their social media accounts and bank accounts to avoid being caught by the police. However, with the spirit of fighting and suppressing crime to the end of the police force, the two criminals were caught by the law.
