Police said they are consolidating documents to prosecute Dinh Thi Bam (born 2000, residing in Kon Trang I village, Dak Rong commune) for kidnapping children.

Initial information, on the afternoon of January 19, 2018, Ms. Dinh Y Dal (born 2000, residing in Kon Kring village, Kon Pne commune) was taking care of her daughter Dinh Thi Quynh (born September 28, 2017) who had pneumonia at the Internal Medicine Department, Kbang District General Hospital when a Bahnar woman who called herself Bup, whose husband was in Lo Ku commune, came to get acquainted and asked to sleep in the same bed.

Bruises at the investigation agency

At 3am on January 20, 2018, Ms. Dal woke up and did not see her daughter or the woman named Bup.

After receiving the report, through professional measures, Kbang District Police identified the perpetrator as Dinh Thi Bam (currently living in To Tung village, Lo Ku commune) and discovered that Quynh was brought to To Tung village by Bam. Through persuasion, at 5:00 p.m. the same day, Bam went to the police station to surrender and admitted her crime.

At the investigation agency, Bam confessed that her purpose of kidnapping Quynh was to take her home to raise. The reason was that, some time ago, Bam lived as husband and wife with Mr. H. (residing in Lo Ku commune) and got pregnant but did not keep the child. Mr. H.'s family did not agree to let the two get married. On January 17, 2018, Bam got sick and was treated at Kbang District General Hospital. Here, seeing Quynh, Bam came up with the idea of kidnapping her to tell Mr. H.'s family that she was their child, creating pressure and forcing the family to organize the wedding.
