Korean Film Festival Week Begins in Vietnam
The second Korean Film Festival begins today, September 6, and lasts until September 11 at the MegaStar-Vincom Towers Hanoi cinema complex.

Diverse in genre and rich in content, the 9 works screened at this Film Festival demonstrate the development of Korean cinema in recent years. These are also films that set box office records with a large number of viewers when released in Korea and many Asian countries.
Taking on the role of Ambassador for this Film Festival are artist Lee Ki Woo of Korea and Ngo Thanh Van of Vietnam.
Lee Ki Woo was born in 1981, with a handsome face and rich acting ability, has participated in 11 movies, 8 TV series, and is admired by Korean and Asian audiences. Notably, the TV series "Flower Boy's Ramen Shop" has reached 2 million foreign viewers and downloads. As a model, Lee Ki Woo has just won the Modelstar Awards at the 8th Asia Model Festival Awards.
Ngo Thanh Van is known as a multi-talented artist in the Vietnamese entertainment industry, a model, singer, and film actress who is increasingly loved by the public for her persistent and serious efforts in artistic activities.
“Killer Toon” (Comic Case) by director Kim Yong-Gyun will be the opening film of this year’s Film Festival. This is the first psychological, crime thriller film with content and setting adapted from Korean comic books.
Inspector Lee Ki-Cheol must investigate a series of murders that occur in a manner that matches the plot of an online comic book by female artist Ji-Yoon. This is a work that will make viewers nervous and shiver from the beginning until the terrifying secrets are revealed.
Following the success of the first Vietnam-Korea Film Festival (October 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City), from this year, the Korean Film Festival will be held annually in Vietnam.
The organizers also opened up opportunities to introduce outstanding Vietnamese films to the Korean public within the framework of the first Vietnamese Film Festival to be held in Seoul in November 2013.
