Arrest of a subject specializing in drilling safes
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 28, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Police announced that it had just arrested Tran Dinh Huu (born in 1981, residing in Nhan Son commune, Do Luong district), who specializes in breaking into people's safes, taking away 200 million VND in cash and 102 taels of gold.
On January 14, 2010, while Mr. Nguyen Ba Hai (residing in Tien Phong hamlet, Nam Hung commune, Nam Dan district) was away from home, a thief broke into the premises, broke the door, used a crowbar, a pickaxe, and broke the safe door to steal 35 million VND and 1 tael of gold.
On the afternoon of May 6, 2010, Mr. Phan Cong Hong's family (Block 4, Dung Town, Thanh Chuong District) had their house broken into by thieves who used a hammer to break open the safe and stole 23 million VND and 69 taels of gold.

On August 18, 2010, the house of Ms. Thai Thi Thanh (in Hamlet 4, Thanh Dong Commune, Thanh Chuong District) was broken into by a thief, who threw the safe onto a folding bed and dragged it to the back garden. He used a hoe to break the safe door and took away 120 million VND and 32 taels of gold.
Realizing that the above thefts could be caused by a subject (or a group of subjects), the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Police investigated and identified the subject of the above thefts as Tran Dinh Huu (born in 1981, residing in Nhan Son commune, Do Luong district). On March 25, 2012, the police arrested Huu at his home. Huu confessed to having committed 9 thefts, including 6 safe thefts. In total, Huu stole 200 million VND in cash and 102 taels of gold.
