(Baonghean.vn) -Thanh Chuong District Police said that the agency has decided to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant Hoang Thi Hoa (born in 1989), residing in Vo Liet Commune, Thanh Chuong District, for the crimes of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "theft of property" that occurred in Thanh Chuong District recently.

Specifically, at around 6:00 a.m. on August 25, 2013, Hoang Thi Hoa borrowed a Ware motorbike, license plate 37 - B2 6785 from Le Dinh Kieu, and went from her mother's house in hamlet 4, Thanh Huong commune, Thanh Chuong district, along National Highway 46 to Do Luong town. When she arrived at Mr. Nguyen Huu D's house in Lien Son village, Thanh Hung commune, Thanh Chuong district, and saw Mr. D sitting and drinking water in the yard, Hoa had the idea of going into the house to find a way to trick and appropriate property. She pushed the door open and drove the motorbike into the yard. Hoa asked Mr. D: "Do you know who I am?" Mr. D replied: "Ms. Hien's daughter". Hoa admitted that she was Ms. Hien's daughter and sat down to talk to Mr. D. When Hoa entered the yard, Ms. Th (Mr. D's wife) was washing dishes. A moment later, Ms. Th also sat down to talk to Mr. D and Hoa. After gaining trust, Hoa used the excuse of taking her mother to Thanh Chuong hospital for treatment because she did not have enough money for hospital fees, so her mother told her to go and borrow money from the two of them. Hoa asked to borrow 1,500,000 VND. Mr. D agreed to lend Hoa the above amount and gave Hoa an additional 100,000 VND.

After taking the money from Mr. D and Mrs. Th, Hoa went down to Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district and continued to use the above trick to defraud Mr. Tran Dinh Kh (born in 1934), residing in Luan Son hamlet, Dong Van commune, of 4,500,000 VND.

Recently, Thanh Chuong District Police received many crime complaints from victims. In particular, the victims are elderly people with impaired memory and living in Thanh Hung and Dong Van communes... According to the complaint, recently a young woman rode a motorbike into a house and introduced herself as a relative of the victims. Then, this person sweet-talked and talked about poverty, debts, and illnesses to get the elderly to give them money. When the money was in her hands, the elderly realized they had been tricked.

Before that, on August 14, at the house of Mr. Tran Vo Th (born in 1923), residing in village 1, Thanh Dong commune, Hoa stopped her motorbike in front of the yard. Seeing that he was old and crippled, Hoa asked, "Do you recognize me?". Mr. Th said, "I have so many children that I can't remember them all." She immediately said, "Remember." After thinking for a long time, Mr. Th said, "Are you a descendant of Mr. Sieu or Mr. Sy?"

Thinking that the fish had taken the bait, Hoa quickly answered “yes” and said: “This morning, my father and I planned to buy a kilo of sugar and a box of milk to visit you, and we stopped by the market to buy food to cook for you and me to eat together. But on the way, the car was stopped by the police. My father told me to go in and borrow some money to pay for the car.” Mr. Th believed him immediately and asked: “How much is it?” She replied: “2,500,000, sir.” Feeling sorry for his “grandchild” who had met with misfortune, Mr. Th pointed under his pillow and said: “Go there and get it, I just got my salary and haven’t had time to put it in the cupboard yet.” After deducting a few 50,000 VND bills, she quietly left. It was not until Mr. Th’s son returned that he discovered the incident.

These are just a few of the many cases in which Hoang Thi Hoa has defrauded elderly men and women for money. After receiving the report, Thanh Chuong District Police quickly deployed forces to carry out professional measures to arrest the subject.

At the investigation agency, Hoa confessed that she was a trader to support her two children, and that her husband was an addict and had just returned from rehab two years ago. Hoa said that because life was difficult and she had no money to live on, she took the risk. In some cases, Hoa knew about the elderly people's situation in advance and then went to "visit" and "borrow money". But in other cases, she took the risk of entering their homes. When she saw that there were only elderly people, she planned and carried out the act. In just a short time, she successfully carried out 4 frauds to appropriate property with a total amount of more than 10 million VND. Through the above incident, people, especially the elderly, need to raise their vigilance against strangers.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by Thanh Chuong District Police.
