Arrested the subject who broke into the bookstore and stole 600 million VND
On January 16, a representative of the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Can Tho City Police said that they had arrested a suspect who broke into Hong An bookstore (39-41 Vo Thi Sau, An Cu ward, Ninh Kieu district) and stole about 600 million VND and many other documents and assets.
The subject was urgently arrested by Can Tho City Police for theft on the evening of January 15, Lam Tan Loc (25 years old, residing on Quang Trung Street, Xuan Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho).
According to initial investigation, on the morning of January 15, Can Tho City Police received a report that Hong An bookstore owned by Ms. Kim Thi Tuyet Mai (37 years old, residing on Hoang Van Thu Street, An Cu Ward, Ninh Kieu District) had been broken into and a large amount of property was stolen.
According to the report, on the morning of January 15, when she arrived at the bookstore to work, Ms. Mai discovered that the lock of the bookstore door had been cut, the storage cabinet had been ransacked, and the surveillance camera had been covered with black plastic. Upon inspection, Ms. Mai discovered that about VND100 million in cash, jewelry worth about VND500 million, and a number of other items, documents, and assets left in the bookstore were missing. When the bookstore was broken into, there was no one left to guard it.

Through investigation and zoning in on the suspect, Can Tho City Police discovered that Lam Tan Loc had many suspicious signs.
Through professional measures, the detectives discovered that Loc was the one who broke into Hong An bookstore to steal property. After searching Loc's residence, the investigation agency recovered all the property that Loc stole from Hong An bookstore.
At the investigation agency, Loc confessed that due to lack of money to spend and discovering that Hong An bookstore had no security, he used pliers to break the lock and enter the bookstore to steal property.
After stealing the property, Loc brought it home to keep and before he could sell it, he was discovered and arrested. Loc had a previous conviction for robbery.
