Arrest of dangerous criminal subjects

(Baonghean) -At 12:30 on December 16, the Nghe An Police Department's Social Order Crime Investigation Police arrested Nguyen Van Hieu - the leader of a dangerous criminal gang operating like a mafia in Nghe An.

Nguyen Van Hieu - also known as Hieu "Vinh" (born in 1981, residing in Nghi Duc commune, Vinh city), had a previous conviction for intentionally causing injury. After being released from prison, Hieu organized gambling, protected casinos, collected debts for hire and resolved conflicts among criminals. Recently, Hieu has gathered a number of young people with criminal records or without stable jobs in Vinh city to do his bidding.

Most recently, Hieu organized gambling and gambling at his home, the Royal Hotel, twice threw stones at Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nang's house (in Hamlet 8, Hung Loc Commune); twice used knives and swords to chase Pham Van Thien (in Ngu Phong Hamlet, Phuc Tho Commune), then smashed Mr. Thien's motorbike, causing damage of nearly 5 million VND. In particular, on November 21, 2011, because he suspected Mr. Trinh Van Tai and Vuong Chi Kien were involved in the death of Nguyen Trong Bang on the night of November 20 in Cau May, Hong Linh Town, Hieu organized a number of people to take Tai and Kien to his house to interrogate and beat them to clarify the cause.

Searching the house of Nguyen Van Hieu, the police discovered many dangerous support tools and weapons, including: 1 bulletproof vest, 1 pliers, 1 homemade iron sword, 4 sharp knives, 2 K54 and AR15 plastic guns, 1 homemade iron gun, 1 18-round pellet, 16 12-round pellets of green color (flower bullets), 1 pepper spray, 18 small pellets, 1 iron baton, 2 1m long iron pipes, 4 homemade iron shields and 230 million VND.

Currently the police force is continuing to investigate.
