Around March 2019, through the work of grasping the situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An Police discovered a drug trafficking ring with a large quantity from Laos, transported through Thanh Thuy Border Gate (Thanh Chuong District) to Nghe An and neighboring provinces for consumption. After a period of monitoring, the subject in the ring was identified as Giong Chua Mua (born in 1987, residing in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district). This is a subject with many sophisticated and cunning tricks, often changing the method of transporting drugs to deceive the authorities.
Consolidating documents and realizing the opportunity was ripe, the Task Force decided to crack the case. At 3 a.m. on June 12, 2019, the Task Force coordinated with Thanh Chuong District Police and Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station to catch Giong Chua Mua red-handed while he was transporting drugs at Thanh Thuy Border Gate (Thanh Chuong District).

At the scene, 10kg of synthetic drugs including 9kg of crystal meth and 1kg of ketamine, 1 motorbike and 3 mobile phones were seized.
