Arrest of subject transporting 150 kg of illegal explosives

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 9, 2015, the working group of the Social Order Investigation Police Department coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1-48 of the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Police to discover and arrest a subject illegally transporting 150 kg of explosives.

At around 12:00 on January 9, 2015, at KM47 National Highway 48 in Nghia Xuan Commune, Quy Hop District, a working group of the Social Order Investigation Police Department coordinated with Traffic Police Team 1-48 of the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province to conduct an administrative inspection of a truck with license plate 37C-08715 traveling from Tay Hieu intersection to Quy Hop District. Upon inspection, they discovered 5 white sacks containing 75 plastic bags suspected to be explosives in the truck's trunk. The working group immediately took the subject and the evidence to the headquarters of Traffic Police Team 1-48 for questioning. There, the subject confessed his name to be Nguyen Thanh Binh (born in 1960), residing in Hung Nam Hamlet, Tay Hieu Commune, Thai Hoa Town. Binh was arrested while transporting 5 sacks containing 150 kg of explosives hired by another person.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
