At 4:00 p.m. on December 22, 2014, at KM 385, National Highway 1A, passing through Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town, Team 2 of the Environmental Police Department coordinated with Dien Chau Traffic Police Station to carry out professional measures to catch Nguyen Van Lap (born in 1980), residing in Hamlet 8, Quynh Hong Commune, Quynh Luu District, driving a truck with license plate 37S - 5279, illegally transporting a frozen dead tiger weighing more than 120kg from Nghe An to the northern provinces for consumption.

The case is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
