Nearly 1 ton of smelly animal organs seized

Quang Ninh province authorities have just discovered and arrested a case of transporting nearly 1 ton of animal organs that were emitting a foul odor.

At around 10:00 a.m. on May 13, at the fishing wharf area, Ka Long border gate, Tran Phu ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, the Border Inspection and Supervision Team of Ka Long Station under Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station discovered and inspected a subject loading a number of foam boxes sealed with tape onto a motorbike with many suspicious signs.

After inspection, the authorities discovered that the styrofoam boxes were filled with rotten animal organs weighing nearly 1 ton. At the time of inspection, the transporter could not provide valid documents proving the origin of the shipment.

At the investigation agency, the authorities identified the transporter as Nguyen Van Doi, residing in zone 4, Hai Hoa ward, Mong Cai city.

The subject confessed to transporting the above organs for a subject named Van from the fishing port to Mong Cai market area 4 for consumption, and someone would pick them up and pay him.

Currently, the Working Group has brought Nguyen Van Doi and the evidence to the unit to coordinate with the authorities to investigate, clarify and handle according to the provisions of law./.
