Vehicle carrying two rare red-faced monkeys seized

(Baonghean.vn) –Two unclesA red-faced monkey (a particularly rare wild animal listed in the Red Book that needs to be protected) was just arrested by the Traffic Police Team 5/1 of Nghe An Police on a van this afternoon, June 14.

At about 10:30 am today, June 14, at km 435 of National Highway 1A (Dien An Commune, Dien Chau District, Nghe An), the Traffic Police Team led by Lieutenant Tran Si Hung discovered on a van with license plate number 30L-5925, driver Hoang Dinh Huong (born in 1978, residing in Hamlet 8, Quynh Chau Commune, Quynh Luu District) driving from Vinh to Hanoi, carrying more than 30 passengers and a cage with two red-faced monkeys. Discovering that this is a particularly rare animal that is at risk of extinction and is listed in the world's Red Book, the Traffic Police Team made a record of the temporary detention of the person and the evidence and handed it over to the Dien Chau District Forest Rangers for processing and release back into the forest.
