Authorities have urgently arrested the driver who locked a traffic police officer in his car and crashed into a Covid-19 quarantine checkpoint.

Speaking to reporters, the leader of Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang) confirmed that they had issued an emergency arrest warrant for driver Nguyen Van Tuan (32 years old, residing in Quang Ngai City) to investigate his behavior.resisting law enforcementand disturbing public order.

According to initial investigation, on the afternoon of May 28, the working group on duty to control and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic on National Highway 1A, passing through Hoa Phuoc commune (Hoa Vang district), signaled to stop a passenger bus with license plate 76B-010.22 of Chin Nghia bus company.

At this time, Captain Thai Duy Kien (officer of the Hoa Phuoc Gate Traffic Police Station) got on the bus to invite passengers to get off to make a health declaration and take their temperature, but suddenly Tuan locked the car door and locked Captain Kien.

The driver started the engine and drove the car in reverse at high speed, crashing into the checkpoint, causing the task force and those making medical declarations to panic and run away.
