Murder suspect arrested in guard hut near border area
On March 20, more than half a month after killing the woman in the guard hut, Sung Van Co (26 years old) was arrested.
Thanh Hoa Province police arrested Co to investigate the murder. Co said that on the afternoon of March 3, she went to the mountain range near her house to trap animals, then went into the guardhouse of the family of Sung Thi Xua, 40 years old, smoked tobacco and then had a conflict.

The woman used a knife to slash the victim many times, causing her to die on the spot, then fled. The next morning, relatives went looking for her and found her dead in a guardhouse near the Vietnam-Laos border, so they called the police.
Screening many suspects in the area, the investigation agency determined that Sung Van Co was the perpetrator and arrested him while he was hiding near his house.
The suspect is a drug addict with a "bad" background.
