Man with a criminal record arrested for transporting 2 cakes of heroin

On September 19, Dien Chau District Police said that the unit had just arrested Lo Van Phong (born in 1969), residing in Kim Son town, Que Phong district, for the act ofdrug trafficking, seized 02 heroin cakes and some related evidence.

Previously, through the fight against subjects in the drug case discovered on September 8, 2022, Dien Chau District Police discovered a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Que Phong District, bringing it to Dien Chau District and neighboring districts for consumption. In which, subject Lo Van Phong (born in 1969), residing in Kim Son Town, Que Phong District is an important "link" in this ring.

Under the direct direction of the Provincial Police Department's leaders and the Chief of the Investigation Police Agency, Dien Chau District Police deployed forces and used synchronous professional measures to verify the subject's activities.

After a period of investigation, the District Police received information that on the evening of September 17, 2022, Lo Van Phong would bring a large quantity of drugs to Dien Chau district for consumption. The unit's leaders arranged forces to ambush and intercept to arrest the subject. Accordingly, at about 9:00 p.m. on September 17, 2022, on National Highway 48 in Ta Soi village, Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district, Dien Chau district police caught Lo Van Phong red-handed for illegally transporting drugs. At the scene, the police seized 02 heroin cakes, 01 mobile phone and 01 motorbike.

At the Dien Chau District Police Investigation Agency, Lo Van Phong confessed to purchasing the above drugs from a subject at the Vietnam - Laos border. Phong also had a previous conviction for illegal possession of drugs and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Currently, Dien Chau District Police have detained the subject to continue investigating and expanding the case.
