(Baonghean.vn) - Thuy created a fake Facebook page and posted articles selling masks in large quantities at cheap prices. When the victims transferred money first, Thuy locked the Facebook page, cut off contact with them to steal tens of millions of dong.
On February 4, 2020, the Criminal Police Department of Hoa Binh Provincial Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police to arrest Ho Thi Thuy (born in 1996, residing in Ngoc Son commune, Quynh Luu) for the act of Fraudulent appropriation of property.
Previously, Hoa Binh Provincial Police received reports from many victims that they were scammed by a subject selling masks on Facebook. Although the victims transferred money, they did not receive the goods. Hoa Binh Police and Nghe An Police then coordinated to verify and arrest Ho Thi Thuy.

Through initial investigation, Ho Thi Thuy confessed that taking advantage of the demand and shortage of medical masks during the outbreak of acute pneumonia caused by the Corona virus, Thuy used a fake Facebook account to post content selling large quantities of medical masks at cheap prices.
Trusting Thuy, many people texted her to order large quantities of masks, but when the victims transferred money, Thuy blocked them on Facebook, cut off contact with them to steal tens of millions of dong.

Currently, Thuy confessed to having appropriated more than 60 million VND from more than 10 people.
