Many illegal sand mining cases caught on Con River
(Baonghean.vn) - When seeing the police, the illegal sand miners started their engines and drove away, but were chased by the police and a report was made for handling according to regulations.
In the early morning of July 7, through reconnaissance and ambush, the Anh Son District Police working group discovered many boats illegally exploiting and transporting sand on the Con River, in Hamlet 5, Thanh Son Commune, Anh Son District.

When seeing the police, the illegal sand miners started their engines and drove away. They were chased by the police at Cay Chanh bridge, Dinh Son commune and a record was made for handling according to regulations.
The working group temporarily detained 6 sand mining and transporting vehicles including 3 engines, 3 sand boats, and seized 18 cubic meters of sand and gravel.
In the initial investigation, the police identified the illegal miners as Nguyen Phung Quan (born in 1981), Le Van Cuong (born in 1988), both residing in village 5, Thanh Son commune, and Ha Van Son (born in 1974), residing in Con Cuong district.
The Con River area in Thanh Son commune is one of the hot spots for “sand bandits” in Anh Son district in recent times. The police are currently preparing a case file and handling it according to regulations.
Regarding the fight against illegal sand mining on rivers flowing through the area according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Police, the leader of Anh Son District Police said that from May 8 to July 7, 9 cases and 13 subjects were discovered and arrested for illegal mining.
