Caught more than 200 smuggled goods across Lang Son border
On the afternoon of December 9, the Anti-smuggling and Prohibited Goods Trading Team - Department of Police Investigation of Crimes and Economic and Official Order Management (Hanoi City Police) coordinated with Market Management Team No. 4 (Hanoi Market Management Department) to arrest 4 trucks with signs of smuggling and tax evasion from Lang Son border to Hanoi.

The transporters include Dang Cong Tuan (born in 1988), Nguyen Duc Phong (born in 1970), To Phuc Loi (born in 1978) and Nguyen Van Duong (born in 1981), all of whom have permanent residence in Bac Giang province.
At the time of inspection, many shipments did not have documents proving their origin. Some items were presented with documents by drivers but had many invalid signs.
Initial assessment shows that the subjects used quite sophisticated transportation methods when using large vehicles to transport goods from Lang Son to Bac Giang. Here, smugglers split the goods into small 1.5-ton or 1.25-ton vehicles to move to Hanoi and neighboring provinces.
Lieutenant Colonel Kieu Huu Viet, Deputy Head of the Anti-Smuggling and Prohibited Goods Trafficking Team (PC 46) said that the smuggling situation at the end of the year is very complicated. The subjects operate very sophisticatedly, specializing in using large trucks to transport goods, then breaking them up and transporting them into Hanoi. Therefore, not only the Hanoi City police but also the provinces bordering Hanoi have also stepped up the fight. The team's officers and soldiers are always on duty during these sensitive times.
Currently, 4 contraband vehicles are being sealed and detained by Hanoi City police for further investigation./.
