Caught gas station installing fraudulent "chip"

The Economic Police Department, Tay Ninh Provincial Police (PC46) coordinated with the Market Management Department and the Provincial Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality to conduct a surprise inspection and caught red-handed gas station No. 55, Group 12, Ben Cau Hamlet, Bien Gioi Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tay Ninh Province, committing fraud in the gas business.

Specifically, at the time of inspection, the results of the RON92 gasoline column at this gas station did not meet the requirements, the measurement error was 8.08%/liter of gasoline and the DO oil column also had an error of 4.55%/liter compared to the standard measurement unit.

Through questioning, Mr. Tran Hong Minh, store manager of Gas Station No. 55, confessed that he had installed an "electronic chip" since November 10, 2015, using remote control to steal and defraud customers of gasoline and oil.

It is estimated that for each liter of RON92 gasoline that customers buy at the above store, they lose from 1,300 to 1,500 VND/liter; DO oil costs from 600 to 700 VND/liter. Compared to the amount of gasoline sold daily, this gas station has cheated customers of nearly 2 million VND/day.

The Economic Police Department, Tay Ninh Provincial Police, and the Market Management Department of the province have drawn up a record of the above violation of gas station No. 55 to handle according to the provisions of law./.
