Caught impersonating traffic police to take people's money
(Baonghean) -At about 1:30 p.m. on November 3, 2011, at Cua Nam Lake area, Vinh City Police discovered and caught a subject, a former market management officer of Nghe An, impersonating a traffic police officer to take money from people.
That subject is Tran Quoc Khanh, born in 1964, residing in Trung Do ward, Vinh city, who was just caught red-handed by the traffic police of Vinh city while impersonating a traffic police officer to take money from Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong residing in Yen Thanh district.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - said that when he was riding his motorbike to the Cua Nam Lake area, Vinh City, Tran Quoc Khanh forced him to the side of the road and introduced himself as the deputy captain of the Vinh City Traffic Police Department and asked Mr. Cuong to show his documents for inspection. Mr. Cuong said he did not have any documents with him, Khanh asked Mr. Cuong to give him 400,000 VND to deposit into the treasury. Mr. Cuong did not have any money so he called his friend Doan Van Khai to bring him the money.
Subject Khanh and evidence of impersonating traffic police to take money from people
When Doan Van Khai came to give Khanh 150,000 VND, he was caught red-handed by Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Tho, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Vinh City Police. During the struggle to handcuff the subject, Khanh resisted fiercely and scratched comrade Tho, causing him to bleed.
At the police station, when searching the suspect, the police discovered and confiscated from Khanh a leather wallet containing 150,000 VND in cash (including 1 100,000 VND note and 2 50,000 VND notes), which was given to Khanh by Mr. Khai (Mr. Cuong's friend); 1 identity card in the name of Tran Quoc Khanh, born in 1964, hometown Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen district, permanent residence Trung Do ward, Vinh city, Nghe An and 1 insurance certificate in the name of Tran Quoc Khanh, working place Nghe An Market Management Department (issued in 2004).
Currently, Vinh City Police Department is investigating to clarify and handle.
