Detained the subject of stealing gold and money

Being the only son in a family of two sisters, Nguyen Van Tu (born in 1992, residing in block 4, Hung Nguyen town, Nghe An province) failed the university entrance exam, his family's economic situation was difficult, Tu wished to have an expensive motorbike to hang out with friends. While being "thirsty for money", he knew that Mr. Phuong's house next door had a lot of money, gold, foreign currency, but the gate was high, fenced, and guarded carefully.

At about 4:30 p.m. on April 24, 2012, Tu was lying on the bed and saw a cat walking on the wall of Mr. Phuong's house. Tu took off his slippers and threw them, and they flew to Mr. Phuong's house. Using the excuse of looking for slippers, Tu climbed over the wall and discovered that no one was home, and Mr. Phuong's bedroom was also unlocked. Discovering that the iron box was chained to a metal chest placed right at the foot of the cupboard, Tu removed the chain and took the box to hide in the abandoned house next to his house. At about 8:00 p.m. the same day, Tu used an iron spike to break the lock of the iron box. When he opened it, he found two gold rings, one gold necklace, 10.5 SJC gold leaf pieces, 100 Euros, more than 7 million VND in cash, and two savings books worth 367 million VND. Tu took the Euro cash and all the gold and put them in his pocket. He left the two savings books and other documents in the iron box and threw them down the well. Fearing that he would be discovered, Tu hid more than 7 million VND in cash on his person, and put the remaining assets in the pocket of old jeans and hid them in an abandoned house. The next evening, Tu returned to take a piece of gold leaf, a gold necklace, 2 rings and a euro bill to sell in Vinh city and Ha Tinh province for 59,620,000 VND to buy a motorbike for 39,500,000 VND and a phone for 3,200,000 VND, and spent the rest.
Evidence of the case including mobile phones, cash and gold has been sealed.
After nearly 2 months of investigation, on June 4, 2012, the Hung Nguyen District Police Department arrested Nguyen Van Tu, confiscating 1 mobile phone, 4,200,000 VND in cash and a newly purchased motorbike that had not yet been registered. Through investigation, Tu confessed to all of his crimes.
After initiating the case and prosecuting the accused, on June 9, 2012, the Investigation Police Department of Hung Nguyen District temporarily detained Nguyen Van Tu for investigation. This is the biggest property theft case in Hung Nguyen town.
