Arrest of commune police chief who indirectly helped Duong Chi Dung escape
The Investigation Police Agency of Hai Phong City Police has temporarily detained Vu Van Sau (born in 1968, Head of An Tho Commune Police, An Lao District, Hai Phong) to investigate and handle the act of forgery in work, as prescribed in Article 284 of the Penal Code.
According to the initial investigation results, on November 2, 2011, Vu Van Sau, as the Chief of An Tho Commune Police, wrote a request for an identity card under the name of Hoang Van Linh - born on July 16, 1975, residing in An Tho Commune, An Lao District. However, the identity card had a photo of Dong Xuan Phong - born on May 11, 1974, residing on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hong Bang, Hai Phong (at the time Vu Van Sau wrote the request for an identity card, Phong was wanted by Ho Chi Minh City Police for smuggling). After being granted an identity card, Phong made a passport and entered and exited Vietnam many times.
