Caught a "red plate" car carrying illegal timber

At 4:45 p.m. on May 24, at Km 3 of the Ho Chi Minh Road, West Branch, passing through Huong Tan Commune, the forest rangers of Huong Hoa District caught red-handed a truck with red license plate QB-2422 driven by Lieutenant NLS, transporting illegal timber from Huong Phung to Khe Sanh.

The truck carrying illegal timber is being detained at Huong Hoa Forest Protection Department.

The exhibits include 50 wooden beams measuring 0.1m x 0.12m and 4m long, of the rosewood type; 3 pieces of rosewood measuring 0.4m x 0.1m and 4m long, with a total volume of more than 2.5m3.

Driver S. could not present legal documents for the above shipment of wood.

According to initial statements, the wood was transported by driver S. from Huong Phung to Dong Ha for a person who has not yet been identified.

The case is being further investigated by the authorities of Huong Hoa district.
