Bus caught transporting smuggled goods

(Baonghean.vn) -At around 7:30 a.m. on December 2, while patrolling and controlling Nguyen Du Street, Trung Do Ward, Vinh City, a special task force of the Protection and Mobile Police Department of Nghe An Police discovered a Hoang Trung passenger bus with license plate 38N-2654 running on the Huong Son (Ha Tinh) - Vinh route showing suspicious signs.

During the inspection, the working group discovered that the vehicle contained 36 boxes of candy; 178 boxes of cosmetics including shampoo, skin cream, shower gel, etc.; 6 blenders and 9 rice cookers made in foreign countries with a total value of tens of millions of dong. The driver, Cu Huy Trung (born in 1955), residing in Ha Chua hamlet, Son Tay town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh, was unable to present invoices or documents proving the origin of the above goods.

At the police station, driver Cu Huy Trung confessed that he had accepted to transport the above goods from a woman in Huong Son district (Ha Tinh) for 5,000 VND per box to Vinh city and Quynh Luu for sale. Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate to clarify.
